Who needs a CSCS Green Card?
Anyone working in the construction industry who needs to visit a construction site as part of their job or as a visitor.
Anyone working in the construction industry who needs to visit a construction site as part of their job or as a visitor.
Because it shows that you have an acceptable knowledge of Health and Safety before you set foot onto a construction site. The training is designed to increase your safety and reduce accidents.
The green card is becoming the industry standard with the Major Contractors Group (MCG), Civil Engineering Association
(CEA), Major Home Builders Group (MHBG), National Contractors Federation (NCF) all committed to targets for the number of operatives
holding the card by 2010.
As important for these groups and individual contractors is that the Office of Government Commerce and many Local Authorities have made
it mandatory to ensure all site workers and visitors in their supply chain are registered under CSCS.
Normally in order to take the CSCS test requires NVQ or SVQ. However you can apply for the test if you have suitable industry accreditation. This means that having two recommendations, one from your current employer or line manager confirming you level of ability, one from a person working in the same firm or a person with professional institutional membership, e.g. FICE or similar. If you are new to the industry i.e. you are not currently employed by a construction firm you can undertake a one day assessment by a relevant company. They will assess your suitability and accredit accordingly. Westwood CP can help with this assessment.

Not just CSCS, we also offer H&S training. If you are a company then Health and Safety training is vital
not only for the well-being of you employees but also as part of your company's H&S culture.
This is especially important for those tendering or already involved in Government and Local Authority contracts where proof of H&S awareness
training forms part of you H&S audit.
We can arrange H&S training courses for your employees either at a suitable venue or on-site.
